■原 久のデザイン思考

What is design?
The art of designing is an experiment and a playful endeavor with the explicit purpose of transforming vague mental images into tangible and visible forms. The people who are charged and endowed with this duty are called "designers". They have the responsibility to perform this exercise as the spokesman for the producers and consumers (of said products).

デザインとは、頭の中で漫然としているイメージを現実の形として最大限それに近づける事を目的とした実験であり、遊びであります。その手段を持つ者のがデザイナーであり、生産、消費、双方の代弁者としての義務と責任を負うことになります。

The designer must have a dialogue with the raw materials. Conception of the final product can be immediate or might emerge from a creative process. Manufacturing conditions and criteria often influence parameters for these raw materials. The aesthetics of the materials are enhanced by the creativity of the designer. And the functionality and performance of the object is greatly augmented by the experiences of a skilled artisan.

作業は素材と慣れ親しむ為にそれらとの対話から始まり、形は結果として現れる場合と、形が先ず決められ、素材は制作上の諸条件による選択にゆだねられる場合等があります。
素材の美しさは感性の働きにより輝き、機能及び性能のすばらしさは、知的な思考そして好奇心が蓄積した経験により引き出されます。

I will not be confused by the diversification in the market place. Rather I will strive for product development in areas where design is a prominent factor (These being: Clothing, Food and Housing). Beauty, Japanese culture, and my own creative instincts will influence future design field.

現代の経済機構が引き起こした多様化という現象に惑うことなく、日本文化を背景とした美意識と自らの価値判断によるデザイン活動を続けながら工芸の最大存在理由である、衣・食・住にかかわる商品開発等のディレクションも手がけてゆきたいと思っております。
